Single Girl

I am very excited to let all of you know that I have just completed the manuscript for my next book, “Single Girl”! The last page was written last night at 8pm and I can’t begin to tell you how fun it is has been to continue on with Delaney’s journey!
You will be pleasantly surprised with the events that take place in this next book, and you will enjoy the fact that I go into much more detail with Delaney’s friends- Jen, Amanda and Lindsay- their relationships and of course, more fun with the men in all of their lives!
Writing both books has been a wonderful and fun experience for me because it takes me away into a world other than my own. I have “relationships” with these friends and men that come only from a place deep within me. I become so personally involved with all of my characters that to me, they seem real. I know they seem real to many of you as well, because Delaney lives in many of us.
With 51% of American women being single these days, it’s nice to know that you are not alone in your thoughts, feelings, fears… as well as hopes and dreams for the future. We don’t live the lives that our mothers did. Women today are single because we don’t have to stay in relationships due to financial concerns and worries. Thanks, in many ways- to the women of the boomer generation and those that fought for women’s rights- we now have the right to choose the kind of relationships that are best for us.
Sometimes we realize that the right relationship for us is simply the one we have with ourselves.
Being single provides us with the opportunity to grow as people. It enables us to be in control of our lives and make decisions that are in the best interest for ourselves and our children too.
And yet, many single women feel isolated because human nature places a desire for us to have partners who we can love and trust enough to be companions with. This desire for a partner is normal, natural, healthy and understandable. It’s often “the meantime” when we question ourselves and wonder, “Will I ever be happy without a man? What if no one ever comes along? Am I truly destined to be alone?”
Yes, you will be happy, someone will come along and no… you are not destined to be alone! I promise!
Happiness is a choice, no matter what the relationship status of our life is. People to love, pets to love, children to love, men to love… come along every single day of our lives and being alone? That is a choice too.
Delaney is a single woman who continues her exciting and hilariously funny adventures in my new novel, “Single Girl!” I am in the process of getting it edited right now and then hope to find a publisher soon so I can get it all into your hands!
